The Soul is described as a Crossover Utility Vehicle or CUV and looks like jacked up hatchback with a bold and funky design. Built on a completely new platform, soul received major updates for the 2012 model year that includes revised styling and new engines.

Those looking to buy the Soul can choose from two engines, a 1.6-litre and a 2-litre. The 1.6-litre produces 125bhp and the 2-litre makes 145bhp. The 2-litre engine is available only in the top-end model and both these engines are paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The Soul sits on 18-inch wheels on the top-of-the-range EX model, while the standard rim on the LX is 16-inches. The LX features as standard manual air conditioning, audio controls on the steering wheel and a roof rack, as well as front fog lamps, tinted glass and electric wing mirrors.
