The new Sunny is based on the Micra platform and is manufactured in India and exported around the world, just like the new Micra. It is equipped with a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine and can be purchased either with a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission. Maximum power is rated at 99bhp and maximum torque is 134Nm.

Standard equipment includes a drive computer, 14-inch wheels and ABS with EBD. The SL and the SV+ variant get a CD player with MP3 compatibility. The top of the line SL variant also comes standard with Bluetooth phone connectivity.

All variants get two airbags as standard along with five seatbelts.
