In essence, the is the hatchback variant of the new Elantra. Only two variants of the are available in the UAE with two different engine options.

The 1.6-litre inline-4 engine produces a maximum of 122bhp and 152Nm of torque. The bigger 2-litre engine produces 145bhp and 186Nm of torque. Both these engines are paired with a 4-speed automatic. A six-speed automatic, similar to the one in the Tucson, would have been a better choice.

Standard features on both variants include power windows, front fog lamps, steering audio remote control and a roof rack. Both variants are offered with a single airbag with additional airbags not even being an option. ABS is also not a standard feature and doesn’t feature on the options list either.
