2012 Hyundai Genesis | new car review

The Genesis was ’s first offering in the European dominated luxury car segment. It is loaded with all the premium features you would find in a German luxury car but has priced it very competitively to attract customers.

The received a completely new look for 2012. A revised grill marks the new front, LED headlamp accents are now body coloured while new taillights and new wheel design round up the exterior changes.

The Hyundai Genesis comes with only one engine in the GCC, a 3.8-litre V8 that that makes 290bhp of maximum power and 357Nm of maximum torque. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that powers the rear wheels.

Standard features across all Genesis variants feature front and rear camera, electrically adjustable steering column, seats and mirrors. Rain sensing wipers, parking sensors and tyre pressure monitoring system also come as standard. The top of the line 12 GLS and the 13GLS variant also get air suspension. 18-inch alloy wheels are standard on all four variants.

Safety features include eight airbags in all variants along with ABS and EBD that come standard across the Genesis range. All variants get a navigation system.
