2012 Honda City | new car review

recently unveiled the new refreshed City with a revamped front fascia with its distinctive new chrome grille. The bumpers also get a tweak along with new taillights. The top of the line EX variant gets 16-inch alloy wheels. In addition to the changes in exterior styling, the new City also receives changes to it’s interior with meter graphics upgraded with new blue colour and the centre console gets some touches of chrome.

The comes equipped with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder new generation i-VTEC engine delivering 118bhp while providing good fuel economy. This engine is paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission. The top of the line EX variant gets steering mounted paddle shifters.

Safety features such as ABS, brake assist, EBD and front airbags come standard on the new Honda City. Honda also ensures pedestrian safety by incorporating G-CON (G-Force Control Technology) body that mitigates impact energy efficiently and thus alleviates pedestrian injury.

The Honda CITY is available in two grades – LX and EX. Features like body colored bumpers and mirrors, power mirrors and windows, electric power steering, tilt/telescopic steering column, advanced audio system, air conditioner, fuel consumption display, ABS, SRS airbags, front seat belt pre-tensioner and load limiter are standard on both LX and EX grades.

City EX grade includes additional features like paddle shift (on automatic transmission), 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, chrome door handles, side mirror with turn lamps, exhaust pipe finisher, audio control on steering wheel, keyless entry, driver seat height adjuster and reclining and folding rear seat.
