The Malibu is one of ’s longest selling nameplate and has been redesigned for 2013. The 2013 is sportier and more stylish than its predecessor. Chevrolet has pinned a lot of hope on the Malibu, this in a way is a ‘world car’ for GM as the company continues to refresh its products making them more competitive in the face of their rivals. Chevrolet calls this the most important launch for 2012.

2013 Chevrolet Malibu

The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu will be available with two engine options, a 2.4-litre inline-4 and a 3-litre V6. The V6 will give this car a significant advantage and extend its reach to Ford Taurus and Toyota Aurion as indirect competitors. The 4-cylinder engine makes 170bhp at 5800rpm and 230Nm at 4600rpm while the V6 makes 260bhp at 6900rpm and 290Nm at 5600rpm. A six-speed transmission comes standard on both variants with power directed to the front wheels. You also get an optional manual gearshift via buttons placed on top of the gear knob.

The Malibu has earned a five-star rating in terms of safety and comes standard with six airbags.

    They are helping but not enoguh in my opinion. They need something more exciting to drive sales. I think the spark and Sonic are cheapy cars and pretty ugly.
