Introduced in 1998, the RX 350 is currently in its third generation. The 2012 RX 350 carries over with minimal changes for 2012 model year. This crossover received its last major facelift in 2009.

The 2012 Lexus RX 350 has a 3.5-liter V6 engine with an output of 270bhp at 6,200 rpm and 336Nm of peak torque available from 2,300 to 6,100rpm. It is coupled with a six-speed Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). This engine has also received refinements to the valvetrain to reduce friction and weight to improve fuel economy. The RX 350 features an electronically controlled Active Torque Control AWD system that electronically controlls torque distribution anywhere from 100:0 to 50:50 front to rear, depending on driving dynamics and road conditions.

The 2012 Lexus RX 350 has premium materials on the inside along with many high-tech standard features some of which are keyless entry with push-button start, 10-way power front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel modes, standard voice recognition and Bluetooth technology. Lexus Premium Audio system is also standard. An optional 15-speaker Mark Levinson Surround Sound system is also available.

The 2012 Lexus RX 350 has 10 standard airbags, including side curtain airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, rear side airbags and knee airbags for the driver and the front passenger.
