All-new Jaguar XF Sportbrake heads for Geneva Motor Show debut

The new Jaguar XF Sportbrake has made it’s pictorial debut ahead of its public appearance at the Geneva Motor Show. It shares the underpinnings with the XF saloon and overall length has gone up by 5mm. Every panel on the XF Sportbrake, from the B-Pillar rearwards, is new. The silver signature line running the length of the car is extended while the C-Pillar is finished in gloss black. Slim rear light units extend into a strong chrome cross member that dominates the rear of the car. Rear seat occupants benefit from 48mm of extra rear headroom. 
The tailgate can be specified with power struts, opening to revealing a versatile load space. With the rear seats up luggage space is measured at 550-litres, with the seats folded, the total volume grows to 1,675-litres. Self-levelling air suspension aids driving dynamics and means the Sportbrake can serve as a tow vehicle. Powering the XF Sportbrake will be either a 2.2-litre six-cylinder engine or 3.0-litre six-cylinder, driving the rear wheels via an advanced eight-speed automatic gearbox. Prices and specifications will be announced at the launch which is proposed for the third quarter of 2012.
