The Land Cruiser Prado is without doubt one of the most popular SUVs in the Middle East. It traces its roots all the way back to the 1980s and has a long heritage of being a capable off roader. It is practical, built like a tank and goes wherever you want it to go.

The 2.7-litre L4 petrol engine is the same as in the Fortuner and produces 160bhp at 5200rpm in the 3-door version. Peak torque of 246Nm is produced at 3800rpm. The 4-litre petrol engine pushes out 271bhp at 5600rpm and 381Nm of maximum torque at 4400rpm. The 3-litre L4 inline-four diesel engine produces 161bhp at 3400rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1600-2800rpm. All three engines are coupled with a multi-mode sequential 5-speed automatic transmission.

Comfort features include air conditioning that offers three-zone independent temperature; a pollen removal mode also helps reduce pollen and fine dust in the cabin and independent rear seat temperature controls. The audio system comprises of a 17 speakers, 11 channels, 605-watt JBL unit with 7.1-channel surround sound. Bluetooth hands-free, USB interface and an AUX input are available for external audio input.

Safety features include SRS curtain shield airbags that cover all three rows, and a SRS knee airbag for the driver. The Pre-crash Safety System alerts the driver by beeping and displaying a warning message. The Prado also had Dynamic Radar cruise control uses a radar to detect and monitor the vehicle ahead, regulating speed as needed.

For use, the Prado has four drive modes and four cameras mounted on the front, rear and sides of the vehicle, which display six different views of the terrain outside. An easy to use dial type transfer switch lets you shift between low range and high range drive. There are also different switches that allow you lock the centre and rear differentials.
