Honda unveils 2013 Accord Coupe Concept | 2012 Detroit Motor Show
Honda unveiled the 2013 Accord Coupe concept at the 2012 Detroit motor show. This concept provides a glimpse of how the ninth-generation Accord will look like when it goes for sale later this year.
The 2013 Accord will feature three new powertrains which includes a, 2.4-liter direct-injection engine, a 3.5-litre V-6 and a twin-motor plug-in hybrid system. The 2.4-litre DI engine will be paired with a continuous variable transmission (CVT) with ‘G-Design Shift’ control system. The 3.5-liter i-VTEC V-6 engine will be available with a six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission. The 2013 Accord will also feature the first application of a new two-motor plug-in hybrid system. The Honda two-motor hybrid system moves continuously through three modes, electric, petrol-electric and direct-drive.
The Accord will be the first model to receive the LaneWatch blind-spot display, which uses a camera system mounted on the passenger mirror for an enhanced view of the passenger-side roadway. The Accord will also receive a multi-angle rear view Camera and an expanded view driver’s mirror as standard equipment.
