Audi Q3 Vail concept, a ‘winter sports’ special | 2012 Detroit Motor Show

had unveiled the Q3 Vail concept at the 2012 . Audi says the famous Colorado mountain resort inspires this name, which is popular for winter sports in America. Audi claims the Q3 Vail itself is designed for ‘winter sports’ and hence the nomenclature.

The Q3 Vail sports flared wheel arches, running boards and winter sports specific roof rails that can carry outdoor sports equipment. The interior too sports some winter sports specific’ gadgetry with the induction warmed drinks flasks, induction chargeable lights and heated floor mats. The Q3 Vail features many other special additions to the interior and the exterior with the most prominent being the ‘Energy Red’ paint scheme that contains golden pearlescent particles.

The Q3 Vail concept has a 2.5-litre TFSI petrol engine which delivers 314PS of max power and 400Nm of peak torque. The engine mated to a seven-speed S tronic transmission and Audi claims a 0-100kmph dash in 5.5-seconds and a top whack of 260kmph.
