’s latest B-segment 5-door CUV, the EcoSport was unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012. The One global product was developed in South America at one of ’s eight global product development centres and is targeted at the BRIC nations i.e. Brazil, Russia, India & China. Key SUV cues include a pseudo-aggressive stance, a commanding driving position and a signature spare wheel mounted on a swing-gate at the rear of the vehicle. Ford designers have attempted to lend the car, the appearance of a larger vehicle, while retaining the agility and practicality of a compact car. They hope to offer innovative equipment normally not found in this class of vehicle and strong fuel efficiency. The engine of choice for the EcoSport is the 120bhp & 170Nm 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine which is assumed to make it’s way into several other Ford models.
