Toyota GT 86 to steal the spotlight | Tokyo Motor Show 2011

2012 Toyota GT 86’s much hyped driver-focused sports car for the masses, the GT 86 will make it’s maiden appearance at the 2011 on 30 November. This born-of-the-concept car i.e. the FT-86 is powered by a 2.0-litre flat-4 boxer engine that generates 197bhp at 7,000rpm and max. torque of 205Nm at 6,600rpm. The motor features torque-enhancing D-4S injection technology and a race-car-like compression ratio of 12.5. The GT 86 measures 4,240mm long, 1,285mm high and 2,570mm wide and will be amongst the most compact four-seater sports cars available. The suspension features MacPherson struts at the front and double wishbones at the rear. 2012 Toyota GT 86The car rides on 17” wheels and is fitted with ventilated disc brakes fore and aft. With its belittled dimensions and a weight distribution of 53:47, front-to-rear it is poised to be quite the driver’s tool. At 365mm diameter, the GT 86 has the smallest steering wheel ever fitted to a Toyota, and it comes wrapped in buckskin for advantageous grip. The driver-focused cockpit get a carbon-effect trim, all-black roof lining, red stitching on the upholstery, aviation-style rocker switches and aluminium pedals. The GT 86 will go on sale in the UK in June 2012 and hopefully we should see it here in the Middle East just as soon.2012 Toyota GT 86
