Lexus adds GS 250 to the 2013 range
Japanese luxury brand Lexus have launched the GS 250 at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition. The relatively inexpensive variant from the GS range is powered by a 2.5-litre V6 Dual VVT-i engine with D-4S direct port injection. Peak power is rated at 206bhp at 6,400rpm and peak torque at 253Nm delivered at 4,800rpm. Naught to 100km/h is clocked in 8.6 seconds and a top speed is a claimed 229km/h. On a combined cycle fuel consumption is 8.9l/100km and CO2 emissions are 207g/km.
Lexus’s Super ECT-i close-ratio intelligent six-speed automatic transmission, with a sequential manual shift function now does automated throttle blips on downshifts. The 12.3” multimedia screen which is the largest on the market headlines the features list. The GS 250 will be available with a new S-flow air conditioning system with nanoe air purifying technology, and a 17 speaker Mark Levinson audio system The new GS 250 will be launched in the UK at the same time as the full hybrid GS 450h, in June 2012. We expect the GS range of cars to be launched in the Middle East in Feb 2012.
