All-new VW Passat CC makes it’s pictorial release

Posted on Nov 3, 2011 by

2012 VW CCHere are the first visuals of the all-new VW CC. It will be officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16 (as if the Dubai Motor Show 2011 wasn’t good enough). The CC is the cheapest alternative in the pseudo-class, the 4-door sports car and that may be the reason VW sold over 270,000 of these. VW have restyled both the silhouette and detailing starting with the radiator grille, re-profiled bonnet and front bumper which now has silver shaded ‘winglets’ that frame the fog lamps. The tail lamps get a new LED design and numberplates are now LED lit. The most prominent change however is that the ‘Passat’ name has been dropped. It is now simply called the CC. Standard safety equipment on the Passat include driver alert system, front head restraints with 4-way adjustment, High Beam Assist, Side Assist, Lane Assist and adaptive cruise control with City Emergency Braking function. Other conveniences featured are front climate seats with massage function and an electrically deployed towbar. Engine variants come as either a 158bhp 1.8-litre TSI  or 207bhp 2.0-litre TSI  petrol and a 2.0-litre TDI common rail diesel with either 138bhp or 168 PS.  All models with 168bhp or more get a standard XDS differential, an electronic cross-axle traction control system for improved traction and handling. The CC will go on sale in the US and UK in early 2012 and the first of them will be delivered in March.2012 VW CC
