Mazda’s all new CX-5 to premiere at Frankfurt
Mazda’s Compact Crossover SUV, the all new CX-5 will debut at the Frankfurt Motorshow from 15 to 25 September 2011. It will be the first of many Mazda vehicles to wear the ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’ design theme, which previewed with the SHINARI and Mazda MINAGI concept cars. The design endows Mazda vehicles with a distinct new front view with a bolder family face and dynamic styling. The engine line-up for the European specification CX-5 will include Mazda’s SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre petrol engine and SKYACTIV-D 2.2-litre diesel engine available in Standard Power and High Power versions.
All SKYACTIV engine will feature an almost race car like compression ratio of 14:1 for improved efficiency. Targeted CO2 emissions for this compact SUV are less than 120g/km for the SKYACTIV-D 2.2 engine model. Mazda seems to be keeping environmental issues within the agenda.
The CX-5 will share the spotlight with the facelifted Mazda3 in the Mazda stands.
