2011 Hyundai AccentAlso known as Verna in some markets, the Accent is ’s sub compact sedan sitting opposite the likes of Nissan’s Tiida and sedan cars. For 2011, Hyundai has given Accent completely new skin. A large hexagonal front grill, prominent character lines all over and a coupe like profile gives the 2011 a trendy and stylish personality.

The new Accent is longer, wider and slightly shorter than the previous model.  While the increased dimensions result in more space for its occupants, Hyundai was careful enough to not compromise the headroom while reducing the height of this car. The Korean car maker claims that the boot of this car can fit four golf bags and three overnight bags.

2011 Hyundai AccentThe sleek and dynamic design of its exterior flows inside the car as well. The dashboard fascia looks sharp and feels better quality than the previous Accent. A USB port is a handy addition and makes for easy connectivity to an mp3 player.

Hyundai offers ABS and 6 airbags as optional on the 2011 Accent. A rear view camera with its display integrated in the rear view mirror is also offered as optional in the car.

New generation Hyundai Gamma engines power the car. 1.6L or 1.4L DOHC in-line four-cylinder engines replace the old Alpha engines. The new engine family is more powerful yet consumes less fuel.  The 1.6-liter engine produces 122 hp and 156 Nm torque while the smaller 1.4-liter engine cranks out 107 hp and 136 Nm torque. Both engines feature variable valve timing and direct fuel injection system.

In the GCC, the 2011 Hyundai Accent will be sold with only the petro engines. Although Hyundai offers a 1.6-liter diesel engine on this car for some markets, this will be not offered in the GCC.

2011 Hyundai AccentInternationally, there is a choice on transmission between a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic. However, only the automatic version will be sold in the GCC countries.

Three variants of the car are on sale in GCC – a 1.4-liter automatic at AED 44000, a 1.6-liter automatic at AED 45500 and a 1.6 automatic with alloy wheels at AED 49000. (Price and variant version as informed by ex-Dubai showroom)

Al little high on the gas per mileage (almost 8 lit/100kkm), but otherwise great in every concept at a very affordable price and definitely more stylish than competitors…tried for 5 months…loved it
