has raised the bar for sporty four door luxury cars with the Panamera Turbo S. Its 4.8 litre V8 biturbo engine delivers 550 hp, 50 hp more than the already very powerful Panamera Turbo.  Torque has also increased from 700 to 750 Nm. In the “Sport” and “Sport Plus” mode of the standard Sport Chrono Package Turbo and during kick-down in normal mode, the eight cylinder engine delivers fully 800 Nm with the so-called overboost function.

The Panamera Turbo S sprints to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, thanks to its Launch Control, and is capable of attaining a top speed of 306 km/h.

Despite the increased performance, fuel consumption remains at the moderate level of the Panamera Turbo, at 11.5 litres of fuel for 100 kilometres. Consumption falls to 11.3 litres per 100 km when fitted with the 19 inch, Michelin developed all-season tyres with optimised rolling resistance.

Modified engine control and improvements in the turbo charger are two key reasons for enhanced performance of the car. The turbo charger now uses innovative titanium-aluminium alloy which reduces the weight of the turbine and compressor wheel, which results in improved and more agile engine responsiveness.

In keeping with the top end Porsche model, the car features a host of driving dynamics and control systems as standard. Including Porsche’s Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), an active roll stabilisation system, speed sensitive power steering, a variable torque vectoring system that applies a variable torque split to the rear wheels combined with an electronically controlled rear differential lock, thus ensuring superior traction and agility.

The sporty character of the new Panamera Turbo S is apparent not just in its performance but is also reflected on the exterior. The 20-inch Turbo II wheels with increased rear axle track width, side skirts from the Porsche Exclusive range and the adaptive extending four-way rear spoiler in the exterior colour – all add to the eye appeal and ensure sport performance.
