MG comes to UAE
MG (Morris Garage), the legendary British automotive marque, now owned by a leading Chinese automotive group – Shanghai Automotive Industries Corporation (SAIC) has arrived on UAE shores.
AW Rostamani Trading has been appointed as the exclusive distributor for MG cars in the United Arab Emirates.
MG dates back to 1924. The car maker scaled popularity charts for its two-seater open top sports cars and sporty styling. Two four door sedans sporting the famous octagonal badge, the MG 550 and the flagship MG 750, will lead the charge in UAE.
The MG 550 sports a 158hp 1.8-litre light pressure turbo 4-cylinder engine powering the front wheels via a 5-speed ‘tiptronic’ auto transmission with paddle shifters as standard. While the MG 750 based on existing Rover 75 car, derives its power from 183hp 2.5-litre V6 engine driving the front wheels through a multi-mode 5-speed automatic transmission.
The MG 550 will be available in two grades, priced from AED 64000 and the MG 750 starts at AED76000. All MG cars will come with a 3 year/100,000 km warranty. MG intends to launch three more cars later this year.
