Ford’s GCC sales grow 28% in 2010

Ford Middle East has registered a 28% sales growth in the GCC markets in 2010 over 2009.
Leading the pack was Saudi Arabia that recorded overall growth of 46% over 2009. The passenger car sales were up by 56% while trucks and SUVs sales grew by 39% in the largest market amongst the GCC countries.
UAE on the other had posted a 7% overall increase in sales with passenger cars showing an increase of 14% as compared to the trucks and SUVs at a mere 3%.
Kuwaiti consumers bought 10% more trucks and SUVs in 2010 over the previous year. The story was a lot different on the passenger car front where Taurus and Fusion set the sales charts ablaze with 183% and 39% sales increases respectively.
Ford Taurus with 3 folds sales jump, Lincoln MKS with a eye popping 76% sales increase, Ford Fusion with an impressive 64%, Ford Explorer with 59% and the big truck – Ford Expedition with a 36% sales growth were key contributors to this sales increase in 2010 over 2009.
