Bugatti working on Veyron successor
Auto Express has reported that Bugatti is working on a new supercar which will succeed the Veyron.
The yet unnamed car from Bugatti will be lighter and faster than the Veyron with a top speed of 435kph. VW chairman Martin Winterkorn was recently reported as saying: “After 300 Bugattis, I believe we would be poorly advised if we were to allow that brand to become dormant again.”
The new Bugatti supercar is expected to use the existing 8.0-litre W16 engine from the Veyron Super Sport mated to the same seven-speed twin-clutch transmission. Earlier reports have also pointed to a new Bugatti super sedan also being in the development phase. The Veyron successor and the new Bugatti sedan are expected to launch in 2013-2014.
