Posted on December 6, 2010 by Phill Tromans
In the Junior Max class, Pakenham-Walsh emerged triumphant after a hard battle with Abdullah Al Rawahi. Each passed the other on several occasions but at the chequered flag Pakenham-Walsh crossed the line first by just 0.58 second, with Ameer Hassan in third.
In the DD2 class the reigning champion and current championship leader Mohammed Al Dhaheri suffered a huge blow to his campaign when his rear axle failed on lap two. This promoted Al Nahyan to the lead, which he never relinquished, crossing the line ahead of Hussein Umid Ali and Patrick Jarjour.
The busiest race of the day featured both the Senior Max and Masters class. Edward Jones, Maurist Knopjes and Sanad Al Rawahi swapped positions throughout the final with Jones emerging on top ahead of Knopjes and Al Rawahi.
The next round is on January 7, 2011.Tags: Al Ain raceway, karting, Motorsport, UAE
