In a bizarre announcement at the LA Motor Show, ’s performance division AMG has partnered with Italian motorbike maker Ducati.

“AMG and Ducati ideally complement each other…This long-term cooperation will help us to jointly access new customer groups,” is what the CEO of AMG, Ola Källenius has said but the exact nature and expanse of this partnerships is not yet known.

What we do know is that AMG will sponsor Ducati’s MotoGP Team and AMG will get access to Ducati’s elite customer base for promotional events and test drives. Meanwhile Ducati will get access to AMG’s customers in return. How the partnership pans out in the future remains to be seen.
