Ford has launched the 2011 Mustang in the Middle East.

The American pony car now features two new powertrain options – a 305bhp, 3.7-litre V6 engine and a 412bhp, 5.0-litre V8 which powers the Mustang GT. By comparison the 2010 Mustang came with a 4.6-litre V8 with only 315bhp power.

Both engines are mated to a choice of six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmissions which replaces the previous model’s five-speed automatic and manual transmission options. Ford claims both new engines offer improved fuel economy as compared to previous models.

Besides the powertrain improvements, Ford states that it has improved the car’s suspension and also introduced Electric Power Assist Steering (EPAS).
