Saab lets buyers watch their cars being built
Saab is installing cameras in its Trollhättan factory in Sweden to let buyers watch their cars as they are built.
The innovative idea stems from the carmaker’s focus on producing cars on order and involving the buyer in the manufacturing process.
To enable the viewing of cars while they are put together, Saab will send buyers text messages with images of their cars as they reach various points on the assembly line.
Eventually Saab plans to provide a real-time video feed to buyers as well. Saab is also considering delivering cars right from the factory for buyer who would prefer that.
