Honda has unveiled the Jazz Hybrid ahead of its official debut at next month’s Paris Motor Show.

The Jazz hybrid will be Honda’s smallest hybrid offering and is being said to highlight the carmaker’s commitment to adopting hybrid technology across its model range.

The Japanese carmaker has been working at reducing the cost and size of hybrid components so that the technology can be used in smaller and more affordable cars like the Jazz.

The already-fuel efficient Jazz now features a 1.3-litre petrol engine mated to an IMA hybrid drive system and a CVT automatic transmission. The engine produces 88bhp while the electric motor gives out 13bhp to give the car a combined power output of 101bhp.

The Jazz hybrid also stores power generated from braking and deceleration and uses it for acceleration.
