Al Dhaheri pips Omanis in Ramadan challenge

Action from round two of the Ramadan Super Prix Challenge
Mohammed Al Dhaheri triumphed over Oman’s Al Rawahi brothers in round two of the Ramadan Super Prix Challenge kart series at Al Ain Raceway.
Sanad and Abdullah Al Rawahi set the pace in qualifying on the National Circuit layout and Sanad was victorious in the first and second heat, while Abdullah won the third.
But in the final Al Dhaheri used experience to benefit from the lapping of backmarkers to stay with the young Omanis and sneak past both for the closest of finishes. He won the race by just 0.08 seconds from Abdullah and by 0.52 seconds from Sanad. Khalid Khalifa finished fourth, followed by Haytham Al Ali, Atef Al Barwani and Patrick Jarjour.
The Driver of the Day award went to Mohammed Al Mutawaa who fought back from 21st place to finish ninth after a spin on the second lap.
The next round of the Ramadan Super Prix Challenge is this Friday evening (August 27).
