Mercedes releases official images of the 2012 CLS
Days after leaked images revealed Mercedes-Benz’s 2012 CLS-Class the German carmaker has officially unveiled the car via some official shots.
While the car will debut in the metal at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, these images reveal the new CLS’s exterior and interior in detail. Unlike the last generation CLS the new model is much sharper and sportier in appearance.
It is said to be inspired by Mercedes’s ‘Shooting Break’ concept and when launched will slot between the E-Class and the S-Class. The new CLS retains the four-seat configuration but has a completely new interior.

Mercedes hasn’t revealed any specification details as yet but the new CLS is expected to house a new twin turbo 4.7-litre V8 engine and may also come with a new 3.5-litre V6 motor in the entry level variant.
Mercedes could also offer the 2012 CLS with its new seven-speed dual clutch transmission. There will also be a hot AMG version down the line.
More details are expected nearer to the Paris Motor Show.
