Merc CLS pics leaked

Somewhat earlier than Mercedes would have liked, these pics of the new CLS have hit the internet. At first glance the general shape has remained the same but there are a few subtle updates inspired by the recent Shooting Break concept that have made their way into the design.

The face is more aggressive thanks to a more upright grille and ‘squinting’ headlight clusters. The rear haunches over the wheel arches are more pronounced while the creases along the sides are sharper, giving the CLS more of a sporty appeal.

The interior remains a 2+2 layout with a centre console running the full length of the cabin.

Under the hood the CLS is expected to have either a new 3.5-litre V6 or and potent turbocharged 4.6-litre V8 churning out 700Nm of torque. Add to that the option of a 5.5-litre V8 twin turbocharged AMG version and you’ll be laughing – hysterically, most likely.
