has launched the 2011 QX SUV and the M sedan in the Middle East.

The all-new QX will go on sale from August while the M will hit showrooms in the autumn with a choice of two engines.

The second generation QX is a full-size luxury SUV powered by a new 400bhp, 5.6-litre V8 engine that produces 25 percent more horsepower than its predecessor, yet reduces fuel economy by 12 percent. The engine is attached to a seven-speed automatic gearbox.

Standard features include a hard drive and satellite navigation system, Around View Monitor that shows a bird’s eye view of the car on the screen for ease of manoeuvring and a 13-speaker Bose audio system. Options include leather seats and a rear two-screen DVD entertainment system that allows two sources to be played at the same time.

Four versions of the 2011 QX will be offered in the GCC – Excellence and Luxury specification levels with either seven or eight seats.

The 2011 comes in two flavours: V6 or V8

The also-all-new 2011 M comes either in M37 form with a 328bhp, 3.7-litreV6 engine, or with a 402bhp 5.6-litre V8 in the M56. Both have the seven-speed automatic transmission.

Infiniti claims the new M has more interior space than its rivals and is also proud of the level of technology in the car. New features include Infiniti Drive Mode Selector, which lets the driver choose a from four throttle and transmission settings; Active Noise Control which works like noise reducing headphones to provide a quieter cabin; and Blind Spot Intervention, which detects vehicles in the M’s blind spot and also stops the car inadvertently wandering out of its lane.

Other additions include the Forest Air system, which keeps unpleasant smells out of the cabin, and Active Trace Control, which adjusts engine torque to each wheel to enhance the cornering performance.

Other equipment in the M includes a hard drive and satellite navigation system, Bose stereo, adaptive cruise control and a range of safety systems.

No prices were available as we went to press, but we’ll update this article as soon as they’re announced.

Update: The price for the QX has been confirmed as between 209,000AED and 310,000AED (based on Dubai showroom prices).
