's GCC-wide sales grow by 31 percent in 2010

Ford Middle East has had a good year so far with GCC-wide sales growing 31 percent during the first six months of 2010, compared to the same period in 2009.

The primary growth drivers (no pun intended) were Ford’s trucks and SUVs, sales of which grew by 46 percent. Popular SUVs and trucks like the Expedition, Explorer, Flex and F-150 sold in good numbers.

Car sales rose by a more modest 18 percent on the back of new models like the Taurus and Fusion.

Ford’s sales also grew in other Middle East markets including Saudi Arabia (56 percent) and Qatar (22 percent). For the rest of 2010 Ford is hoping that new models like the Ford Edge, new Mustang V6 and V8 and the Lincoln MKX will be able to keep sales buoyant.
