has revealed the second-generation X3 which would replace the current model by the end of 2010.

With the 2011 X3 BMW has improved on key areas such as the powertrain, suspension, fuel efficiency, interior space, exterior and interior styling. The new X3 which is based on the new 3 Series shares a lot of equipment and features with the latter including the engine options.

As compared to the older model the 2011 X3 has a more upright stance and new front look which is distinctly BMW. The compact luxury crossover is also better proportioned and slightly larger in size with higher ground clearance as well.

BMW has given the new X3 a new eight-speed transmission, a revised suspension and electronic damping control with Normal, Sport and Sport Plus modes. The xDrive system however continues unchanged for the 2011 model.
