has launched a new special edition model of V8 Vantage called the N420.

The motorsport-inspired car is 27kg lighter than the standard Vantage and comes with sports suspension and a new sports exhaust, as well as optional Race Collection paint schemes. It’s available in both roadster and forms powered by the standard 420bhp 4.7-litre V8 engine.

The N420 draws its heritage from the famous Nurburgring 24 Hour race in Germany, a race in which Aston Martin has competed every year since 2006. The Kuwaiti-owned British company’s participation in the race has spawned a Vantage race car – the GT4 – as well as aerodynamic and performance developments for road cars.

Judicious use of lightweight carbon fibre has saved 27kg in the N420. The exterior features wider-than-standard sills, carbon splitter and diffuser, gloss black alloy wheels and black mesh vents, while inside race-inspired carbon fibre seats, special edition N420 plaques and a leather or Alcantara steering wheel sit alongside more road-based technologies like cruise control, parking sensors and Bluetooth phone connectivity.

The N420 features as standard the normally-optional sport pack, which includes stiffer suspension and a louder exhaust. The special Race Collection paint hues include Rose yellow, Kermit green and Elwood blue, as well as the tradition Aston Martin Racing green. The white car pictured here sports the Asia Cup livery.

Production of the N420 begins this month (July 2010) and deliveries are due to begin in August. The Middle East price has yet to be announced, but expect it to more than the British price of 96,995GBP (540,670AED). The standard V8 Vantage coupe cost 610,000 AED at the time of writing.
