is recalling more than 1,300 LS 460 sedans in the UAE because of the possibility of engines stalling.

The move is part of a global recall of several Toyota and Lexus models affected by the same problem.

Simon Frith, managing director of UAE Lexus distributors Al-Futtaim Motors, said, “Following close communication with Lexus Japan we can now confirm that 1,347 selected 2007-2008 model year 460s are affected in the UAE.

“Lexus Japan has confirmed that due to possible defective valve springs there is a small possibility of abnormal engine noise or rough idling. In extremely rare instances the engine may stall.

“In the interests of delivering the highest standards of Lexus product quality and customer care, we will be contacting our customers directly for a complimentary replacement of the affected parts.”

Lexus customers with questions can contact Al Futtaim on 04 206 6002 between 8am and 6pm Sunday to Thursday.

– We believe that this recall also affects customers across the rest of the Middle East, but have been unable to get official confirmation at the time of writing. For more information, contact your local dealer.
