There are fears over brake line safety on the Wrangler

Jeep is recalling hundreds of thousands of its popular Wrangler and Compass SUVs internationally because of safety fears.

The move affects almost 300,000 cars in countries around the world. The Wrangler (2006 to 2010 models) is because of fears that a defect could cause the brake lines to wear through, potentially leading a fluid leak and a loss of braking power.

The 2007 model year Compass recall is due to the risk of a sticking accelerator. The same problem also affects the 2007 Dodge Caliber.

There was no news at the time of writing as to whether the recall affects vehicles in the Middle East – we’ll update you as we hear more.
