Hyundai chose Beijing’s motor show to unveil its all-new 2011 Accent (dubbed as the Verna in select markets including China).

This next-generation model of the compact sedan bears a striking resemblance to the new Sonata including the fluid body design, coupe-like greenhouse area, front grille and peeled back headlamps.

As compared to the current Accent the new model appears to be a big step up, both inside and out. The 2011 Accent/Verna features two petrol engine options; a 120bhp 1.6-litre unit and a 106bhp 1.4-litre motor.

While the 1.6-litre model comes with a four-speed automatic transmission the 1.4-litre version can be had with either a five-speed manual gearbox or the four-speed automatic.

Hyundai plans to build the 2011 Accent/Verna at its Beijing plant from July. It will first launch in China before becoming available in other countries around the world.
