Ford Middle East is recalling 2010 models of the Fusion, Explorer and Sport Trac as well as the and Mountaineer, because of safety concerns.

The move in the region is part of a worldwide recall of cars with front seat manual recliners, which in some cases may have been “improperly manufactured”, Ford says. There are concerns that the defect could cause the seat backs could move backwards unintentionally in the event of crash, raising the risk of injury.

Owners of the above cars will be contacted by their local Ford or dealers to make an appointment for the car to be inspected, and repairs will be carried out for free. The repairs will involve the replacement of the seat with a defect-free model or a power seat.
