Citroen reveals new luxury car concept
While Citroen maybe facing difficulties in recent years it still aspires to become a premium brand that can compete with German counterparts including Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi.
The French carmaker has made this intention clear by revealing a new concept car called the Metropolis. Designed by PSA Peugeot-Citroen’s design studio in Shanghai, China, the 17.4ft long luxury car is actually longer than the recently unveiled Audi A8 L and wider than even the Maybach 62.

The striking concept is based on a modified version of Citroen’s Platform 3 architecture and features a hybrid powertrain. A 2.0-litre 272bhp V6 engine drives the front wheels while an electric motor powers the rear wheels.
Total power is rated at 460bhp which is transferred to the wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The Citroen Metropolis concept will be unveiled in Shanghai next month.
