Ford has recorded a 43 percent growth in Middle East sales during the first quarter of 2010 compared to the same period in 2009.

The overall growth includes a massive 75 percent sales increase in and 25 percent in the . Ford’s Middle East managing director, Larry Prein, attributed the result to hard work by dealers the American brand’s revised product line up. Recent releases include new incarnations of the Mustang, Fiesta, F-150 Raptor and Taurus.

Mr Preid also revealed that Ford plans to release hybrid cars in the GCC in the foreseeable future and confirmed that vehicles were already being tested in the region. “It is our intention to make them available as soon as they pass testing,” he said.
