2010 Alfa Romeo 8C Spider

The 8C Spider is an exclusive sports car from the Italian marque and follows on the heels of the now-sold-out 8C Competizione coupe.

Like the latter, the 8C Spider is a collector’s car of which only 500 units will be ever made.

Showcased at the 2009 Dubai Motor Show, the 8C Spider is currently available at the princely sum of 1,200,000AED. That price gets you a Ferrari-derived 450bhp 4.7 litre V8 engine, which sends power to the rear wheels via a six-speed paddle shift gearbox.

Alfa Romeo claims that the 8C Spider will accelerate from 0-100kph in 4.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 290kph. A near perfect weight distribution, a sporty suspension and 20-inch alloy wheels with wide rubber and carbon ceramic brakes give the two-seater sports convertible the ability to satisfy performance enthusiasts. The 8C Spider is also known to have a very satisfying engine and exhaust note.

The sensation of speed is heightened by the top down motoring experience the car affords thanks to a two-layer retractable fabric roof. The wide air intakes, signature grille, jewel case like headlamps and a long bonnet give the front a unique identity while the rear is characterised by the flat back and round tail lamps.

The interior is classic Alfa Romeo, furnished with premium materials like carbon fibre, leather and chrome. Deep bucket seats ensure that occupants are snug when driving the car with zest.
