Infiniti’s 2011 QX56 revealed ahead of New York debut
Leaked official images of Infiniti’s 2011 QX56 have revealed the new premium full-size SUV ahead of its debut at the 2010 New York Motor Show later this week. Based on the new generation Nissan Patrol which was introduced in the Middle East last month the 2011 QX56 has been considerably remodelled for the upmarket Infiniti customer. The new QX gains plenty of FX styling upfront including the headlamps and grille. At the rear too the SUV has been given the Infiniti treatment with a redesigned tailgate, taillights and bumper which make the QX56 more appealing and distinguish it from the Patrol. The interior appears to be almost identical to the latter but may feature more premium materials and some more equipment.
While there is no official word on the powertrain yet the QX56 is expected to feature the new Patrol’s 5.6 litre 400bhp V8 engine mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission with electronic four-wheel-drive.
