Koenigsegg’s new supercar debuts at 2010 Geneva Motor Show

Koenigsegg the Swedish manufacturer has revealed its new Agera which debuts at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. Based on the Koenigsegg CC the Agera incorporates fresh design cues and an uprated powertrain to enhance performance and also its appeal. The Agera uses the CC’s 4.7 litre V8 engine in a higher state of tune capable of producing 910bhp and 1100Nm of torque. Weighing just 1,284kg the Agera is claimed to be able to sprint from 0-100kph in just 3.1 seconds. To aid handling the Agera is wider than the CC from the front and comes fitted with a special traction control system.

Stopping power is expected to be good thanks to new ventilated and cross-drilled ceramic brakes. Key exterior design cues which differentiate the Agera from the CC include new LED-lined headlights, a new front bumper and new LED tail lights. Koenigsegg has used a variety of light weight construction materials like carbon fibre, Kevlar and aluminium honeycomb to keep the supercar’s weight low. The interior too is revamped and includes a carbon fibre centre console with a multi-info cluster and single dial controller for controlling various performance features. More details and pricing is expected from the public unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show.
