Racing returns to Dubai this weekend

UAE Touring Cars in action in Dubai

The UAE Touring Cars and GulfSport Racing Cup racers will be back in action this weekend as part of the UAE Sportbike Festival.

Despite the two-wheeled focus, the two series will form part of the line-up on Friday, February 26 at Dubai Autodrome.

As the name event suggests, the headline event will be the latest round of the UAE Sportbike Championship.

The UAE Touring Car Championship will see the Class 1 battles between three SEAT Leon Supercopas continue as Khalid Al Mutawaa of the House of Portier team, Jon Simmonds of DXB Racing and Khalid Bin Hadher vie for victory.

Class 2 will see several drivers trying to unseat the Lap 57 team from their dominant season so far. Additionally, the newly-launched Suzuki Swift Cup will take place within the touring car race, and organisers are expecting a good turnout.

A week after the dramatic events at Yas Marina circuit, the GulfSport Radical Cup drivers will be hoping for a cleaner race in Dubai. The AUH Motorsports drivers Jordan Grogor, Christophe Hissette and Bassam Kronfli will be the favourites.

The Sportbike Festival will also include a range of entertainment away from the track, including displays from motorcycle clubs and manufacturers, bands, children’s areas, merchandise, and food and refreshment stalls. Admission is free.
