Lincoln Confirms MKT Crossover Production
Lincoln
has confirmed the production of the MKT luxury crossover. The
three-row crossover will make its official debut in 2009.
Based
on the Lincoln MKT concept from the 2008 North American International
Auto Show, the production version will feature Lincoln’s signature
design cues, comfort and convenience technologies like SYNC and
comprehensive safety and security features.
The
MKT will feature a standard 3.7-litre normally aspirated V6 engine
while an EcoBoost 3.5-litre V6 engine with six-speed transmission
that will deliver an estimated 340 horsepower will also be on offer.
EcoBoost engines feature turbocharged direct injection technology and
deliver up to 20 percent better fuel economy and 15 percent improved
emissions than larger-displacement engines.
The
MKT will provide seating for up to seven passengers with all the
latest in-car connectivity technologies. Plus, next-generation
navigation system technology and new safety and security features
will be available, including the new Blind Spot Monitoring and Cross
Traffic Alert System.
