Honda CR-Z Concept
Honda will launch two new hybrid cars in Japan before the end of next year.
The CR-Z will be a hybrid sports car due for launch in February 2010, while Honda will also make a hybrid version of the Fit – known as the Jazz in the Middle East.
The CR-Z, based on the concept car of the same name, is currently being designed and developed in Europe and will make its world debut at October’s Tokyo Motor Show.
Both models are powered by the same Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) technology with Intelligent Power Unit that is used on the Insight and Civic hybrid but the CR-Z is expected to possess 140 bhp to make it a spirited performer worthy of being called a sports hybrid.
With the launch of these two new hybrid models Honda is looking to position itself as the leader in environment-friendly motoring, an important market segment which continues to grow steadily.
