2008 Toyota Land Cruiser | new car review

Posted on Jun 25, 2009 by

Embodying all the rugged characteristics and
reliability that has made it famous, the 2008 Land Cruiser
adds a new dimension of driving pleasure, perceived quality and
comfort. The new Land Cruiser is big, powerful, comfortable, has a
fantastic four-wheel-drive system, plush suspension – all packaged
together in a product that just shows no signs of letting go of its
stranglehold of the SUV class.

For 2008, the Land Cruiser has increased slightly in
size and features three engine options along with a host of new
technologies. The most noticeable change is in the passenger cabin
which is designed based on styling cues similar to the more expensive
Range Rover. Since this SUV has grown in size, the interior also
features addition legroom and headroom as compared to the current
generation. Eight passengers seating is standard with the three
individual rows reconfigurable to meet a wide range of passenger as
well as cargo carrying needs.

The basic engine available on the Land Cruiser is a
4.0-litre V6 petrol unit with VVT-I technology that delivers 240bhp.
The second unit on offer is the 4.7-litre V8 VVT-I engine delivering
271bhp (an increase of 19% over the previous 4.7-litre engine).
5-speed manual or automatic transmissions are available. The third
engine on offer on the Land Cruiser is the 4.5-litre V8 DOHC diesel
unit with common-rail diesel technology and twin-turbos and is mated
to either a 5-speed manual transmission or the new 6-speed auto.

Two trims – GXR and the top-of-the range VXR with
all the frills are available, but the real treat is that the Land
Cruiser can be had in 19 combinations providing customers with a wide
choice to meet their particular motoring needs.

Truly one of the most competent if not the most, the
Land Cruiser is an off-roader par excellence. In case of any doubts,
just ask any desert safari tour operator in the region.

This ring on a wo#;7&m821nas finger is really a sign of her acceptance and willingness to marry a specific individual. Typically are provided by guys to ladies. Nevertheless, the other way about also is gaining recognition inside the US. In some countries like Finland, Norway etc both parties committed to marriage wear these rings.
