Available in both luxury convertible and pillarless models, the CLK-Class has become one of the world’s most desirable and exhilarating forms of pure driving pleasure.

This sporty mid-size four-seater coupe – which can be ordered in hard top or convertible forms – continues to benefit from a rolling development programme, and continues to attract buyers thanks to its subtle blend of muscle and comfort.

The CLK-Class sets the benchmark in terms of quality looks and feel, aerodynamics, handling stability, comfort and reliability plus active and passive safety, as well as the range of standard equipment provided or the optional extras available. Innovative features such as a multifunction steering wheel, Brake Assist and Headlamp Assist are either not available from the competitors, or only as optional equipment. Other standard CLK features include an automatic tyre pressure loss warning system.

The model range is vast, encompassing modestly powered 1.8 in-line four engines in the base coupe, to a thumping great 6.3 litre V8 that now powers the absolute top-of-the-range AMG variant. All of the smooth automatic transmissions featured in the CLK come with an electronic manual feature.

The cabin of the CLK is a relaxing place to be, benefiting from high quality materials, appealing colours and painstaking attention to detail. For the driver, all controls are within easy reach, while the appearance of the instrument cluster will hold no surprises to Mercedes fans, being based around the company’s well proven design of circular dials that display all the data a driver might need in an easy to read format.
