2007 Jeep Wrangler | new car review

The really needs no introduction, as it is one of the most recognised vehicles on the four-wheel drive market. Often referred to as an icon of four-wheel driving, the Wrangler is available in three derivatives, Sport and Sahara, each coming with a choice of two wheel and four wheel drive and now the Wrangler Unlimited.

The classic styling of the Wrangler is combined with a host of modern-day technology to form a true dual-purpose vehicle. With a fuel-injected six cylinder 4.0-litre engine, a choice of manual or automatic gearbox and range of 4WD ratios it will handle anything from highways to the most gruelling mountain tracks.

The all-new Wrangler is lean, rugged and simple, achieving best-in-class capability while delivering a true open-air driving experience. With solid axles, removable doors, exposed hinges, a fold-down windshield and innovative removable and convertible tops, the Wrangler retains the brand’s coveted core values of freedom, adventure, mastery and authenticity.

Featuring a one-of-a-kind, four-door, open-air design, the all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited expands the Jeep experience to new dimensions. With room for five adult passengers — a Wrangler first — and the most cargo space ever offered in a Wrangler, the Unlimited combines class-leading off-road capability with everyday practicality.

Although purists may cringe at the thought of a four-door Wrangler, this new model does not waver from the fundamentals of its values and will be a welcome addition to the range. It’s a subtle way to get an extended market by way of making the effervesecent Wrangler brand more acceptable to families.
