2007 Ford Mondeo | new car review
Since its introduction in the Middle East four years ago, the Ford Mondeo has successfully managed to carve itself a significant position in the mid-size segment. Boasting class exclusive and segment leading features, the Mondeo has proved popular among retail and fleet sectors.
For 2007, Mondeo goes even further in bringing German technology and driving dynamics with the introduction of two new derivatives, the 2.5L V6 automatic, as well as Europe’s ever popular sports performance version, the ST220, which is powered by a 3.0L V6 engine coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission. Handling and performance are excellent, especially in the top-of-the range models. Those seeking the total ‘driver’s performance’ should check out the six-speed manual transmission that gives the ST220 much of its allure.
For is known for its no-fuss approach to interior design and, in the Mondeo, you will find all the comfort and appointments you require without it becoming too complicated or ostentatious. The fact that it can boast one of the biggest interior spaces in its class is a tribute to the designers, because the car’s overall dimensions are not as big as some of its competitors.
Safety features are comprehensive. They must be, as this is emerging as one of the major areas of competition for this midsize class of family sedan.
