Cadillac CTS-V

Cadillac is to bring its
most powerful sedan ever – the CTS-V, to the Middle East. The
sports sedan is slated to arrive at Cadillac dealerships during the
fourth quarter of 2008. General Motors, the parent company of
Cadillac, is offering the 2009 CTS-V outside of North America for the
first time.

The CTS-V is powered by a
6.2-litre V8 powerplant that is based on the mill under the Corvette
ZR-1. The CTS-V is capable of doing the 0-100 kmph jig in under 4
seconds. Power is rated at 556 horsepower at 6100rpm and 747 Nm of
torque at 3800rpm. Transmission units will comprise of a choice
between a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic with paddle-shift
control.

In May 2008, the Cadillac
CTS-V achieved a lap time of 7:59.32 at the famed Nürburgring
circuit. It is believed to be the fastest documented time for a
production sedan on factory tyres.
